At Crocker Park it was Passage to India, here in the wood it is India Garden.

Great news on the restaurant opening! I enjoy Indian food, so it will be great having a place so close to home.

Jim - I'm curious as to your definition of Crocker Park. Passage to India was located in a strip plaza on the north side of Detroit Road, slightly west of the Promenade. I didn't realize Crocker Park had expanded that far north and west.

I wouldn't put it past Bob Stark - one day he's trying to steal the Beck Center, next he's quietly expanding Crocker Park north of Detroit. Perhaps he wants to extend Crocker Park all the way to the lake. Someone should warn Bay Village.

Of course I meant the Corcker Park area.

During the 4th of July many Westlake residents were complaining they should just rename Westlake Crocker Park.

Directions mess me up. I keep thinking I live on the West Side!

Even our esteemed conventional news outlets don't know the difference. Even though the one abduction actually occurred at the Promenade they all referred to Crocker....

We had take out last night and it was terrific!!

I haven't eaten there yet, but it's definitely on my short list of places to check out.

I told Elaine Cicora about it, and she'll be checking out soon as well.

Had lunch there today and it was fantastic! I really missed an old Indian Restaurant I used to frequent back in Cincinnati and this is just as good. We did the lunch buffet and the selections were very nicely done and very spicy (well, a couple weren't spicy but still were tasty). A friend I went with said he had been there one other time and some of the buffet items change so that is good for some variety. Prices were varied from inexpensive to reasonably priced expensive (for more complicated dishes with costlier ingredients). You can eat there on any budget, I would think. I can't wait to try out some of the menu items but the quick buffet is hard to pass up.

It had a good crowd today so the word is getting out there, even with the lack of street signage. Can't wait to read a review of the other dishes (and there are TON of them).

Just wanted to say that my wife and I gave India Garden a try on friday night, and it was wonderful! The prices were very good, and the food was quite good as well. And apparently word-of-mouth is working, because by the time we left, the place was nearly filled. Several of the customers had obviously patronized the place when it was Passage to India, because they knew the owner and joked with him about moving, and it's good to see that they've followed the restaurant in its move.

Just be careful with the spicing ... I ordered the channa masala, made with chickpeas, and had it spiced to level 4 on a scale of 0-10, and it was almost too spicy for me; next time I'm definitely dropping it down to 2 or 0, but either way, it was delicious, and I'll definitely get it again. My wife's chicken makhni dish was also excellent.

And the place is a better deal than Cafe Tandoor, because you actually get rice with your dish, rather than having to order it separately!

And best of all for us, it's only a short walk away!



Now on an unrelated note, does anyone know if Wu's Cuisine is sticking around when their building is torn down for the Walgreen's??
