Mark, err, I guess I should make that Mr. Kindt,
I'd be glad to do that, although I want to see JOB in the loop as well.
Essentially, Corey, err that is Mr. Rossen, took from the Steve Barry deck post link that it was all about the hospital, which anyone here can see is completely untrue, and a few of us know was an intentional untruth. I responded a couple of times there, and one of the admins, who also posts here from time to time, reacted with a generalized and unsubstantiated comment about the Deck, along with two ad hominem attacks.

I'll copy some of that later tonight.

Excellent advice, Mark. I have been appalled at the lack of professionalism exhibited by our finance director and other city leaders managing and contributing to discussion on the city/community facebook pages. Outright harassment and bullying permitted on a social platform for civil discourse. It's bewildering and embarrassing that city leadership could allow this. The man hired to harass select constituents outspoken on the hospital debacle posted flagrant pictures all of which I reported to the administrator and all of which were ignored.

This is interesting and perhaps an irony. The Lakewood Democratic Club asks its members to write letters to protect the Affordable Care Act:

Saturday, July 18th:

“Resistance does make a difference. Monday evening, a third and fourth senator came out against the latest version of Trumpcare, and it may be running out of lives. Calls, protests, letters—and postcards—mattered.

A "clean repeal" vote may come next, and we'll fight that also. But this may may soon be an opportunity to show we're more than resistance. We've told our reps we don't want Trumpcare; now let's tell them what we do want.”

Meanwhile the democrats on city council sit silently as Medicaid and Medicare recipients have their hospital looted in a an apparent money laundering scheme. Nobody seems to speak up for fear of reprisal against the establishment.

What do council members fear? The hottest market in Northeast Ohio is healthcare. All of the job gains in Northeast Ohio are healthcare related.

Over 1500 jobs lost, the poor and vulnerable displaced and council sits back and does nothing. No economic impact study, no calls for a federal investigation, absolutely no leadership.

This is a complete failure of the Lakewood Democratic Party.

Mark,
First, here is the topic starter:

"Corey Rossen
July 31 at 3:04pm
Obsever reports car dealership closing as a direct result of hospital closure. More details to come from the observer. Six other car dealerships have closed in the past but this is the first one since the hospital closed, there must be a link."

This relates to the following Deck thread:
http://lakewoodobserver.com/forum/viewt ... =7&t=24105

Inaccurate. Untrue. A lie, and knowing a little about Corey's recent track record, I would say it is intentional. A very long discussion ensued.

Now to the matter of the "Lakewood Community" group. It occurred to me that it's been quite awhile since I reviewed this group's purpose and leadership. While it's clear to many of us that City Hall is behind it - mainly Jenn Pae - this isn't borne out by the list oi six admins; she's there but so are others.
Then there's this statement in the "description":
"This is community page for the city of Lakewood, but it is not run by, endorsed by, or makes any claims to represent the city of Lakewood or its government."
How this plays out in reality is another matter.

So my thinking is we wouldn't get very far taking this to the ACLU. If that's not right, someone please persuade me otherwise.

We could complain to Facebook, and they can be responsive in these situations. We could even address the admins and see where that goes. Corey's statement is so egregiously false, and the following discussion so long, they might think to take it down. But how do we do that coming from our commitment to free speech?

Mr. Eadah,

I agree. But to add to you query "What do they "fear"? ", May I suggest the following:

"Fear" is usually the product of the unknown. Here in Lakewood, it can longer be claimed that City Council does not "know" what they did. So what they "fear" is the unknown consequences of being held accountable for their bad behavior. And accountability is precisely what JOB, Mr. Alaimo, Mr. Kindt et al are discussing in this thread.

The diarrhea of lies spewing from the tag team of Summers' fools, e.g. Ms. Rossen and Mrs. Pae is evidence of "fear", denialism and downright stupidity.

The hooks are deep in the the fish' mouthes and they struggle the hooks get deeper. The uncertainly is whether the line will break and which if any fish will make their way to the the live well in the boat. Regardless, they will have to live with the hooks in their throats foerever.

Alternatively, it might be worth asking various City council members whether or not the City of Lakewood has adopted written policies for the use of social media? Are City employees permitted to use social media during work hours? Has the City of Lakewood designated a lead employee for social media? If so, who? Are user posts edited or deleted? Under what criteria? To what extent are non-City employees acting under the color-of-law as site admins? How many social media sites are regularly used the City employees?

Yes, user posts are being deleted, but I have no written reason why. Not even an after-the-fact response.

That thread on the FAKE Lakewood FB page is totally hysterical and highlights the lack of reading comprehension skills of the original poster.

How would anyone equate that thread with the hospital, or claim that it was about Barry Buick closing as a result of the hospital being gone?

The facts are that the removal of vehicles from the Barry lot naturally prompted a discussion on social media - on BOTH Lakewood sites - (the original one and the FAKE ONE). It was a legitimate question as to what was happening and as a result of discussion here we all learned what Barry Buick was doing.

As usual, the Deck works. And as usual, those who want to see it gone come out and attack at every opportunity.

Anyone with a third grade level if reading comprehension can see what was and wasn't said in that thread and therefore can conclude that the attack on the Deck was not justified.

I hope they also understand how it has been a longstanding effort by the city administration and its minions to belittle the Deck at every opportunity.

Ask yourself WHY.

Really

We have been Observing these players for years, over a decade. They expose themselves again and again.

Why further they hateful illogical narratives, they present no facts, just childish BS.

The Mayor should step down for the reasons, the ex-Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio came up with when he read the documents, that have been obtained.

An impartial person with incredible legal credentials, that no longer practices in Ohio, has taken the time to actually READ THE DOCUMENTS, something most of the others in the conversation have never done. Something MOST OF LAKEWOOD has NEVER DONE. But they know so much more.

Steve Barry Buick, stopped selling Buicks for other reasons, they are still open for great GM service and bodywork!

But the hospital closed because of the Mayor's hard work since 2010 to close it, and siphon off money for friends to manage for us.

The Safety Director should step gown because he is a complete embarrassment in that role. Remaining silent on little things like the Westside Rapist for 14 days, Hiring campaign thugs to City Hall with improper background checks for friends, that could never pass a real check, to work on his campaign, and they went on to commit their special bullshit which is covered up.

Not being a member of Facebook, I find it impossible to find either of the pages the folks here are talking about. Could someone please post a link to the "fake" Facebook page or the administration's Facebook page?

Any help would be most appreciated.

I need a good laugh today!

thanks.

Well stated, Bridget.

The proof is in the pudding. That attack was unjustified and the fact our finance director/city facebook administrator allowed is demonstrative of their lack of ethics and desperation to discredit the LO.

I stand firmly with JOB in this post. The mayor and associated civil servants have grossly neglected their duties to serve their constituents.

As a lifetime Democrat - the blatant hypocrisy beautifully described by Nadhal is important for everyone to understand. Lakewood Hospital Foundation had $33million to support the poor and underserved. The Lakewood Democratic club and it's members, which include many of our city leaders (city council & BOE) should have fought for the hospital and for this vital charity. They did not and I find this unacceptable.

On the Facebook site, put Lakewood Community in the search field. I don't know if you have to sign up for Facebook first. I don't necessarily recommend it, but it has become something of a necessary evil in today's online world.

I concur with Ms. Peppard and Ms. Conant. My critique of our elected and appointed City officials is also made as a life-long Democrat. When our elected "Democratic" officials and their appointees trade jobs and tax dollars to directly benefit developers they have completely lost touch with their voters. As I have posted previously, I am simply galled by knowing how systematically we were lied to by our own Democrats.

I am amazed at how knowledgeable people get pulled into petty bitch fights with the out "liars."

The fact is, Mayor Summers Administration has been about 1 thing from day one, closing the hospital, and shifting the money into private funds run by friends.

PERIOD

He has lied, proven, cheated, proven, intimidated, proven, broke ethical laws, proven, election laws, and more to get this done, not since 2014, but since 2010 when he was appointed to do this.

They say the Clinic was pulling out, only because since 2010 they helped them leave for the millions of $$$$$$ left in the foundations, and the land.

PROVEN, who cares what fools say who have a dog in the fight, or don;t read the documents.

Lakewood residents need to wake up, we were played big time.
