For example, electronic records are maintained for indefinite periods of time and are almost never deleted outright. In fact, as of this writing the total number of records kept by our email archiving service exceeds 7.1 million!
This is not the city's response when asked for its Records Retention Schedule. The official current schedule as of June 14, 2017 does not make special provision for electronic records; most categories list "Various (paper, digital)" as media type. Some categories are "permanent," but many are scheduled for only a few years' preservation or even just one.

Of the very small number of record categories which are specifically electronic media, at least a couple have a retention period under one year. (911 calls, e.g., are scheduled for 90 days.)

According to the official schedule "correspondence," specifically including electronic mail, is retained for either 1 year, 2 years, or "until no longer of administrative value."

Were they released today?
They are "whittling away at it."

This grandstanding by the city is an insult to the citizens of Lakewood and a thumbing of their noses at the justices.

I hope that the judges deal appropriately with this situation.

I'm not an expert on this matter, but I have a suggestion:

Please start a new thread entitled something like "City Hall Refuses to Meet Court Order"......their action subject is important enough to deserve it's own thread.
This thread is not sharply named.

I agree, but can this thread just simply be renamed?

You live in Akron, when did you become a shill for the mayor of Lakewood?

This is utter bullshit, I doubt that there will be 300 pages of unique items.

Also, why did City Hall just ignore a court order. The Court order was to produce all of it by the 12th.

Not trickle it out in bunches of less that 1% at a time.

The Mayor has been caught numerous times lying about all of this, as have Jen Pae, Colin McEwen, and other stooges.

Reposting the mayor's bullshit is as bad if not wore than retweeting Trump's lies.

Mr. Mayor, can we have the documents that were asked for. Including mine that got swept under the rug, and you told a member of council didn't really matter anyway?

.

I agree that this is highly disturbing, yet not surprising.

In regards to the mayor's chest-pumping, I would not underestimate it. As desperate and contrived as it may sound to most regular Deck posters, those that do not know the background of this issue may actually believe Mr. Summers' seemingly tall tale. Has anyone with advanced knowledge of the matter at hand considered writing an article for the printed LO about this issue and how City Hall is stalling and ignoring court orders?

On another hand, I was out shopping today and while crossing the Lowe's parking lot, I stopped to let a pedestrian cross the aisle. After flagging the pedestrian on, I noticed that the pedestrian was none other than Law Director Kevin M. Butler. I wonder if he is looking to do some home repairs before selling his house and leaving! :)

Mr. Butler, it is not too late to do the right thing, withdraw yourself from this mess and turn over evidence. I sincerely doubt protecting Mr. Summers until the bitter end is worth your reputation, career, and maybe law license and freedom, depending on what is in those records. When poop hits the fan, I doubt he will protect you, but only himself.

IMO, what Hizzoner published is as much a part of this ongoing issue as anything. And it provides context (and fodder).

Same goes for Trump's tweets.

Mr. Grossetti,

I certainly hope you do not retreat to the clouds.

I very much like the context and fodder you add here.

Brian - Sorry I edited my last post ... rendering your response "cloudy." See you in the cloud thread.
