We have a Council and Executive that in no way represents the diversity of our city - the white, middle-aged, male predominant government is old and outdated, in every way imaginable.

We are in desperate need of citizens to step up and run for office. So many people were energized by the SLH campaign - it must continue.

The ethics violations outlined by Mr Kindt will continue until we put people in place who actually commit to serving the public, not themselves.

I hear there are several people looking to run in upcoming elections. Please, do it. We need a breath of fresh air in Lakewood.
I have heard more than one person mention Matt Markling's name as a Mayoral candidate.

Let me see, how has this game been played recently?????? Hmmmmmmm?????

I do not really know Matt, and I rarely speak with Mr. Markling, and have no idea if he is running for mayor

It might be nice to allow the candidate, whoever, to announce for themselves.

3 years from now who knows what is going on. Anything from Kuwait with no taxes. To Federal Government running the city.

Hmmmmmmmm????? Matt Markling????, worked hard to bring transparency and accountability to the School Board.

Oh, I can imagine his name comes up in conversation. He was a highly regarded member of the Lakewood School Board and served as it's President. He was honored for his work, with fellow members extolling his dedication and work ethic.

I was told by more than one person that it was decided the day after the 2015 election. Matt Markling is running for Mayor. It's why he quit commenting on the Deck that day in 2015 and took a back seat on the 2016 vote and only advised on the lead up to the 2016 election. Matt Markling wants to be mayor. Just what I heard. Seems like a reasonable idea. Best of luck to Matt.
