Bill,
This is Lakewood's version of NAFTA.
All of the "experts" repeated the lie that "healthcare is changing" and that hospitals would be obsolete while ignoring the hard data that healthcare spending in the United States will continue to increase over the next decade.
Here are some facts:
Healthcare spending topped 3.2 trillion dollars in 2015.

On Hospitals:
The healthcare sector is leading employment gains in the American economy for 2016.

In a healthy democracy, a city council stocked with real democrats wouldn't have caved to the Cleveland Clinic. They wouldn't have sold the city out for $500 donations from drug companies, $1000 donations from Clinic associated PACs. Most importantly, they wouldn't have allowed Avon to take the jobs from Lakewood. The national job gains and healthcare spending will be diverted from Lakewood. A brilliant strategy by city council.
In a functioning democracy, City Councils vote would have been 4-3 maybe 5-2 in one way or another. Not in Lakewood, 48.5% of residents disagree and council votes 7-0. No dissent whatsoever.

This is not a democrat or republican situation. Metro was NEVER going to come to Lakewood. Remember, Armond Budish is a very good friend of Michael P. Summers.
I believe Summers, Council and the Company planned to give Lakewood Hospital away for pennies on the dollar to their good friends and business associates, CCF.
It is time for some in this country to stop separating themselves by democrats and republicans. We are all Americans. United we stand, divided we fall. Besides, many of those complaining don't even vote!
That being said, bad people are just simply bad people. Summers, Council, and Extended Company are alleged thieves, and alleged money launderers.

Councilpersons at large Marx and Bullock, and councilperson Nowlin's last day in office.
No more 7-0 votes.
No more backroom politics.
Restore truth and transparency at City Hall.
One councilperson at a time.

If Lord Lakewood is still running the city, he will make sure that he has enough "friends "running in each ward and at large.
Unfortunately, once again, we will probably be dealing with alleged vote tampering again!

Not interested in "Lord Lakewood's" sway. Not willing to concede anything to any of them.
I'm interested in effecting change. I'm interested in the possibilities that will present themselves in 2017.
I'm hoping that the folks from Save Lakewood Hospital and anyone else who believes in honest, transparent government will mobilize and target Marx, Bullock and Nowlin. Hold them accountable. Call them out as failures. As representing something that we are not. A secretive, closed, back room entity unto themselves.

Mr. Buckley,
I certainly hope you are paying attention to Lord Lakewood's "sway". His "sway" is exactly what determines what DOES or DOES NOT happen here in Lakewood. If Lord Lakewood does not want anyone in office, they will NOT get in!
It appears to me that a lot of evidence has been presented here on the Deck to partially explain what has been happening here in Lakewood, right before your eyes, and soon, more will be posted, pending investigation.
The hospital situation is big and important, however, there are many other situations here in Lakewood that are more pressing.
There never was a plan to bring Metro.

Crain business magazine is reporting that the Metro Hospital expansion will be an economic boost to the entire West 25th Street area. They are also reporting that Metro is profitable.
Seems like only yesterday we were told that Metro was a third rate instituton and that hospitals were obsolete.
Thank you Mayor Summers.

They took us for fools. And apparently a lot of people in Lakewood WERE fooled.
It's still just hard to fathom how sending a hospital and all its economic activity to ANOTHER COUNTY is in any way beneficial to us here in Lakewood and Cuyahoga County.

It was only beneficial to Summers and Extended Company!
