Wadden is pitching the Republican concept of "false balance", rather than the fact-based concept of Truth.

For example, it's a fact that Climate Change is caused by fossil fuels. 97 percent of scientists agree, with the other three percent being funded by oil companies.

Our corporate media reports "both sides" in the name of "balance", offering the fake scientists an equal share of TV and media time as the fact-based 97 percent.
This is done in lieu of fact-based reporting, which would say "the planet is warming and we are in trouble!"
Why do they do this?
First, because they don't want to be perceived as "biased"....even though the facts clearly point in one direction.
Secondly, media is funded by big energy companies.....advertising dollars are a way of tilting coverage.

This "fairness" vs. "truth" paradigm also plays out with issues like evolution and homosexuality.
