Can't we at least look at saving the apartments? they don't look so bad, would that be a consideration? Judges are able to enact something, , make a rule, a stay of execution"? It might be well worth it, if the apartments are salvageable. "The Hilliard Arms" true classic commercial flats. Save the store fronts? I'm just scratching for something. it's not too late, it's too late is when it's all gone.

Can't we start a fund raiser? Go fund me something? Save the apartments? The store fronts, what's so wrong with them? Can't we emulate the protesters of the Dakota Access Pipe Line" and stop it before it's too late?

Please tell me what is wrong with this idea.. I haven't seen the apartments inside, I'd like to, Bob, why haven't I heard as much, if not more, pleas for assistance? It is no use. Summers and Extended Company have had this demo planned out for a long time. It is part of their city takeover. I believe that somehow, the alleged criminals from city hall and their friends will somehow profit from this, among others in the city.

Summers and Council have failed their jobs to serve and protect their citizens and their community. Had they REALLY wanted to save this historic theater, they would have done it a long time ago.

By the way folks, 2 million dollars of our tax money is going towards the demo of this theater, or is it?

The apartments are indeed completely separate from the theater. The pausing point in demo, at the stage wall is the real line of demarcation. If they didn't cut too much pipe and the boiler was drained before freezing, I could supervise a crew of maybe 3 people and have plastic over the windows, the radiators hooked back up, and heat on in about a day.

They removed all the plaster from every wall though, but that's the perfect opportunity to make one suite out of an efficiency conjoined with a one bedroom apartment. The right half and left half units have the kitchens back to back. So an open kitchen/bar would be in middle against the corridor wall, centrally located in a new suite with dining towards one side, living plus a bedroom on the other. Open floor plan. With two full baths. And really big closets.

If it seems like this was thought out ahead of time, it was. This was part of our long term plans for the building.

It could be done right now.

I'd heard that the idea of demo'ing the theater but leaving the apartments was floated but the Authorities determined the systems were too intertwined.

They're not. They're functionally separated completely.

But it won't happen. Done deals are done deals. Bureaucratic inflexibility is infamous world wide for a reason.
