Meet this vacant property at 1557 Rockway. This property has been sitting vacant for several months with a large dumpster in the driveway. However, nobody really seems to be working on it or doing anything with it. They are obviously not cutting the grass:
There is a paper on the front door that says it is maintained by a Mortgage Contracting Services or MCS. I did city hall's work and contacted them, and they told me that they don't maintain the property. The tax mailing address for the property is a suite in the 1100 Superior Building. According to public records, the listed suite is for an affiliate of Woods Cove LLC, which is the loan shark that Cuyahoga County sends tax liens to. This loan shark operates under several names. Lakeside Reo Ventures, Woods Cove LLC, and others.

Summary: This property appears to be owned by the tax lien loan sharks, commonly refereed to as thieves.

People pay taxes and have to look at this.

Meet this vacant lot at 1302 Westlake Ave. This vacant lot was purchased by a woman that lives in Rocky River back in 2009 for $5,000. The owner has neglected to cut the grass regularly for at least two years. It is becoming a nuisance. Why did she buy it if she is going to do nothing with it? It's not generating any rent money.
Notice that there is a home on each side of this vacant lot. These residents pay taxes and should not be forced to deal with this every day. Why don't they just cut the lot, you ask? Why should they? They pay taxes for city services like building inspectors and city officials that should be enforcing the law.

The address of these vacant lots, along with the names and addresses of the owners should be kept in a database. When the grass gets too long, use the law and send the owner a citation. If it is not cut in 48 hours, per city ordinance, have a city crew cut it and slap the owner with a bill.

I found the name and address of the owner in about 30 seconds, so that can't be used as an excuse.

I expect this to be cut by Monday. City Hall now knows about it.

Does anyone know why most of the work on flipping houses in Lakewood has suddenly ceased for the past week and all the equipment left sitting? just curious.
