“We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”
Albert Einstein

I am absolutely sure that the problem I am trying to solve was created long before SLH was formed.

In his remarks on February 11, 2016, Mr. Butler admitted that City Hall's "solution" relied on the thinking of those whose thinking created the problem in the first place. BL, Kenny & Co. embrace that thinking.

Below is an email I sent to Mr. Butler last April. Butler never extended the courtesy of returning my calls--a pattern of Summers, Madigan, Bullock and the other "thinkers" who caused the problem.

Is it any wonder that the problem has not been solved?

Anyone who thinks differently about how to solve the problem is labeled a "pathological extremist" and "bully" and a candidate for "thought oncology" therapies like fabricated reports to the bar association and reports to the police that are investigated by the CCF Police Department. How pathetic.

Subject: A Solution to Unite Us

Hi Kevin,

I heard about your comments at the ground breaking for Grant.

I understand that you are very busy dealing with 7 Councilmembers, the Mayor, a likely taxpayer suit, ongoing records requests, a charter amendment, THF lawyers, a likely referendum and the other part of your job. Hats off to you for your past and ongoing service to the City.

I continue to work 16-18 hours per day 7 days per week on solving the problem. Among other things, I have been busy speaking with regional hospital administrators and LHA trustees.

I have a solution that is gaining much support. It is much different than what I proposed last week. I believe it can and likely will unite the Mayor, Council, LHA and Lakewood residents. I believe that there is consensus on a few key issues.

November is six months away--a show down can easily be avoided.

The solution avoids unnecessary and ongoing contentiousness. Please trust me when I say I am not working against you or any other City leader.

I am available 24/7.

Sincerely,

Brian J. Essi

Brian: You are generous to give us quotation marks around the phrases and word "pathological extremist" and "bully" and a candidate for "thought oncology" therapies, yet you offer no attribution. The quotes imply that this collection of words just might be fact, yet it's so arbitrary. I realize Lori Allan has repeatedly called you a bully here and in other threads, but you and she share the same position on our debate. I know for a "fact" I've never written or said as much. Despite being horribly convenient, it appears these words can only be attributed to you. Here's a little help. If you stop using these, you won't read these accusations any more and you might feel better about yourself.

Jim

32 years in good standing without an infraction

Even with you praying real hard "against" me, I'm confident you have no facts or law to support the fantasy.

Hi Kate

Not really sure who the question was addressed to or what the question means. Ryan can you elaborate?

questions. so many questions, essi.

let's say that by some freak chance that you get your wish, in ALL CAPS no less, that you are able to SLH. then what?

i'm pretty sure that you won't answer that one. you never do.

it's not about the hospital is it? it's about your relevance. your attourney-istic prowess. your inability to accept loss. your getting beat up in gym class.

the internet gave you your chance to get even and you blew it.

Mr. Kenny, I can help you out with the attribution. I believe Mr. Essi was echoing my post from March 1, 2016. In it I marveled at your dual roles as "Thought Oncologist" and "High Priest of Build Lakewood." I also used the phrase "Pathological Extremists." I can't help you with "bully." That's not mine.

My comments were based on the following:
March 1, 2016 Jim Kenny wrote: "Brian.... over time however, your commentary, interpretations and conclusions have been untethered, imbalanced and unsettling. At best we can call these Extreme, yet at their worst these border on Pathological."

October 15 2015 (9.04 am) Mr. Deneen posted a screenshot of the Build Lakewood Facebook page on which Mr. Kenny says the following:

"I appreciate the Deck for what it is. Councilman Anderson must too, as it's the only forum he went to ask for an end to malicious rumors that the Council was somehow acting in secret to destroy the hospital. He went right to the Deck and the Deck only. Like a surgeon attacking cancer he went right to the source. My hope is that he was effective so that the rest of the Deck can be a healthier place."

In response to Mr. Deneen's screenshot, Mr Kenny replied: "Thank you Mike. You've proven what I said. When a cancer arises on the Observers Deck we all have an obligation to treat it. My post that you recalled from Facebook only echoes my point."

Mr. Essi's original post was about "Fraud Exposed: City Has No Records to Support Claim of $78M In 'Wind Down' Costs." This is serious stuff. And once again you try to divert attention, muddy the waters. Ironic that you object to Mr. Essi's lack of attribution when their root was in your posts.

essi's roots are everywhere.

except in the answer to who will run Lakewood hospital. no roots in that.

come on "buckleys", answer that.

i'll allow the appropriate time for you to get your approved message in order.

tick tock.

I am sorry Jim Kenny your words have no facts or substance as I have seen here, can you say anything about the scam hospital deal that rings true? I have been waiting but you have disappointed me. What am I talking about? I am talking about so many things that have been presented on these pages that surely proves [ in my opinion ] what has transpired with the decanting, dismantling and stealing of Lakewood Hospital. Can you say anything relevant besides twisting words? Can you prove that it was a good deal? In my opinion the citizens of Lakewood have been cheated. Prove me wrong many are waiting. I think I hear something hovering above me. Oh No its the Thought Police! Please Help Me!

That was Mayor Summers job and he did not lift one finger to save Lakewood biggest asset, can you explain that kate? What do you think his motive was? You must be jealous of Mr. Essi kate.

you are a little late to the game dontcha think, Fitzgibbons? SLH could have used your "yeah, what he said" months ago. i'm sure your voice would have tipped the scales if only you were brave enough to have spoken up before November.

I'll pose the question for you too, fitzgibbons...what is your plan to make Lakewood hospital viable again?

James: The old debate that you are insisting I revisit was reviewed over 11 months by an impartial body. Based on their findings, they voted unanimously in favor of closing the hospital and contracting with the Cleveland Clinic to build – with its capital and not taxpayers – an outpatient facility and state-of-the-art ER. If you wonder how they arrived at this decision, I suggest you ask your council person as you’re represented by four of the voters; your ward council representative and the three at large. These individuals are accountable to you. I am not. I make this suggestion because my pledge to you and others to move on from the settled debate and help our community heal. To fight finished squabbles does not serve these ends.
