Dan and Jim,
I started in this process supporting Mike Summers and City Council and trying to help them help our City and Lakewood Hospital so I would like to see our leaders succeed too.
One of he most loving thing you can do for someone is to be truthful with them.
I'm sorry, but this is not a close one, Summers and the other leaders have failed.
I don't get any satisfaction saying that--it actually is very sad.

I said it from the beginning that there appeared to be some type of reward in it for Summers, Council, Foran, Haber, Budish, etc., etc., etc. It also seems that some of the men here on the Deck are a little chauvinistic and tend to ignore the women that try to post here. Some of you might want to review some of my past posts, as they contain a lot of factual information. They never intended to vote any other way but with Summers.

My question is why would a mayor....Any mayor want to close a hospital in the community? If anything you invest in the hospital make it the Center of the city! I guess its different for a hospital then say fire or police, those come from tax payers money---and budget cuts may be necessary I dont know. im just speculating, But its not even that lakewood hospital was funded from the state....not Like a Metro type facility.
I understand they use new age terminology ---Transforming healthcare....unprecedented change. The building was remodeled from top to bottom..even if they wanted to have a family health clinic why not use the existing building, use the floors already in the hospital and remodel---like flip that house on the The cable network. If the clinic can get the family health center to be like a strongville , or Richard E jacobs it would be Booming. Those places are always busy. But i think its going to take time..Here we are winding down just to build back up....
Lori --all employees were well taken care of including myself. I was very fortunate to continue my role at the family health center...now an in the future. Yes many people were shifted to other places. But as of now its still a full functioning hospital. From my understanding in patient care will cease Feb 5....and after that its all oupt. The ER will remain full service, and we will have the same oupt Testings.Bloods test, Xray MRI, Cardiovascular test--EKG , holters, Echo, Vascular- The same as other family health centers like strongville, Richard E jacobs, Elyria family health, Tubbs.

Everyone keeps asking why, why, why? Easy answer, it's all a part of the master plan with a big reward in the end.
Dan, I am so glad that you were placed here in Lakewood. I have three friends that were placed that were no so lucky. one has a family member with mega medical problems and a a severe handicap. They were placed at Hillcrest. Having been in Medical Management in the past, I assume this was done to try to get them to leave. Place them far away, they are forced to quit, and then CCF won't have to bear the cost of their insurance.
