More to the point, this is absolutely correct. For a long time you had to be Republican to get elected in Lakewood. Robert Lawther, David Harbarger, and the 4 time mayor Anthony Sinagra. These were people that also realized how little national politics played on a local level. But came out of a incredibly strong Lakewood club.
The GOP did not leave Lakewood. GOP voters left Lakewood.

Stephen

Lawther, Harbarger and Sinagra are here. Tex Phillips and crew are here. Colleen Wing, Salo, Demro, Scott, and others are here.

I know for a fact that the Bullock team were literally out campaigning everday rain or shine. When they threw a party for workers, and or stars would come to town, they kept campaiging on the streets missing the events.

While I know you are Independent rarely if ever voting the party ticket, how many days were you knocking on doors? I know other Rs in Lakewood that spent even less time.

Me I only covered Bullocks efforts as a photographer. But I have to admit, the number of volunteers, workers, projects, literature, etc. was staggering.

This was without a political dynamo like Palin on the ticket. Who unlike Mike believe will be back very, very, very strong. Nothing like a woman scorned to kick some ass. I mean it has been proven with GWB intelligence is not as important as snappy and friendly. Heck might have even had a shot.

PS- Don't you hate looking at the clock wondering when it has been long enough?

Then as the 2008 election neared the national Republicans jumped ship in mass. They would not even allow GWB to appear at the convention, what alone in ads or with their candidate. Why? After all for eight years we were assured this was the golden candidate? Then watching from afar we were able to see one of the good Rs be taken in with promise, no guarantees of power. Hiring the very people that derailed his candidacy. I think it was at this point he lost any hope of male democratic support. Then came Maverick getting slapped down and made to accept a unvetted Governor Palin. After all, she was a woman, and everyone that supported Hillary would blindly with no mind follow her. Then instantly while once again we were assure she was the real deal, she was put on ice. I mean what would happen if the American people actually found out how unprepared Governor Palin was!
No, Bush lost the propaganda war to the left wing media in this country. Republicans allowed the media to define Bush and his presidency. Republicans will continue to lose this battle until they become more militant.

Guys like you and me do not need egg timers.

I am glad you said propaganda war, because it was all lies, just like the last eight years.

Have you ever noticed who owns the "media elite?"

More militant, you prosecuted a president spending millions and 3 years over a little strange in the side office. More militant?

I am willing to bet February brings the first call for a special prosecutor.

I gave you an eye roll, you owe me a clicky.

Maybe, just maybe they were embarrassed to be called Republicans. You know, the GOP left them. As Mike said. Now give me the numbers from when Lakewood had a strong Republican club?

Maybe, they like the Nationals, sobered up and realized just how bad GWB
and the party took the country. Big government and imperialism for two examples.

Stephen, you have to admit GWB was graded on the largest curve ever constructed by humans. If you cannot admit the man was an embarassment then...

So besides hard work, truth and looking and middle America, what did Jerry Nelson, Mike Deneen and now Jeni Matousek do, to change the trend?

Or did they all just run off?

They will never have a real hearing on the Fannie and Freddie debacle.. C'mon Emanuel was on the Board of Directors for Freddie Mac

See, not even sworn in and calling for hearings.

Well guess what,

Bring them on, I am the guy that thought Bill Clinton was rightfully
disciplined for lying. Stupid reason by that do not give degrees.

Then lets look into war crimes, war profiteering, document shredding, and oh yeah the president that never told the truth.

Which effects Lakewood. (to keep on subject)

I am one of those weird guys, that think elected officials should be better. To me they are our heroes, not musicians, artists or sports stars.

Why?

That would mean the terrorist won.

While GWB himself stood on a pile of rubble and assured me to not
let this change my way of life, or the terrorist win.

Don't tell me he was lying!

Except Congressman Kucinich, and Sen. Byrd.

The rest, needed to be flushed.

So, how has your way of life changed since 9-11?
