Lakewood may layoff up to 50 workers

The mayor has issued an email within the city on the subject, and I think it's informative:

The General Fund Balance that was over $6 million in 2002 is now less than $1 million. That doesn't leave much room for error.

All I'll say about the past is that it's a lot more fun to go on a spending spree than it is to live within a budget.

I am grateful that the City has a Mayor and Council that are willing to take control of the out of control budget process.
