I have nothing against Mac's but if you build a good PC with quality components you'll have no problem. Every machine I've built is rock solid and my Linux servers have stayed up for years. I suggest anyone who wants to build their own system to do their research on www.tomshardware.com
It's a great source for info. The windows operating system serves one purpose and that's to play games. Other than that Linux is much better. By the way, you don't need a Mac to run OSX. You can run any number of operating systems on a PC using VMWare. In fact you can run them all simultaneously.

I agree that Linux is fantastic, but it's not quite as user friendly as OSX.

I bought a ratchet set at autozone. The ratchet won't adjust to the righty-tighty setting. I've never been unable to figure out how to use a ratchet in the past. Whereas before they broke shortly after I bought them, now they are coming pre-broken.

I've found that this is a distinct advantage. You avoid all of the disappointment that comes from having a product work (once) exactly as represented, and it never working again. Just skip right to the part where you'll end up eventually, with a non-functional device. Avoid all expectations and that false sense of security from reliance on performance.

I've had both Macs and PCs that broke on me. Until Apple or Dell or anyone else starts sending me checks for using their products, I don't much care what the box is, as long as it doesn't slow me down.

I did a little research and found this out:

If you invested $1,000.00 in Dell stock one year ago, you would receive a gain of 16% in the last 52 weeks ($24.00 to 27.95). $116.00 net gain. Not bad.

If you invested $1,000.00 in Apple stock one year ago, you would receive a gain of 131% in the last 52 weeks ($72.60 to 167.91 ((all time high)) ). $1,308 net gain Not bad at all.

Now, it sure helps to have iPods and iPhones in your product mix.

This tells me that everyone should by a iMac, iPhone and an iPod, invest a grand in Apple stock, and let them pay for it!
