I know you and would not lie or mislead you.
The robbery on Madison was one of convenience. Two guys that had robbed others in Cleveland driving through Lakewood on their way somewhere else saw a friend of mine. With NO ONE on the streets or in the park, they jumped out, knocked her down, grabbed her purse and took off.
PLEASE NOTICE - NO ONE ON THE STREETS.
This is one of the things that drive me nuts. One thing we know are busy streets and parks are safe streets and parks. But when Lakewoodites stay out of parks, off the streets, they could become haven of opportunities.
If we want safe parks and streets we must use them, not be afraid of them. when I walk the streets at night, it pains me to see porch after porch empty. Another feature of Lakewood that makes Lakewood safe not being used.
WE must not let the rhetoric of the few kill the city, or it will become a self fulfilling prophecy.
