Tina's is next to the Nicholson House on Detroit and Nicholson, the Indian Garden is near the car wash and across from the Diner on Detroit near Riverside and the Shore is on Madison...I think across from Maria's.

i'm getting hungry!
in no particular order (and adding a sixth..)
around the corner
west end
the place to be (best breakfast, hands' down!)
la pita (i could eat there daily!)
players
angelos

i also must confess that lunch hasn't been the same since Annie & Laurie and the Bud's white door went by the wayside. I dream about cheeseburger soup and tomato alfredo soup!

I can't believe no one has yet mentioned Pepper's on Detroit, the epitome of family restaurants. They are so warm and friendly there, and the pizza is the best in Lakewood, in my opinion. I was just there last night, and the veggie pizza was as tasty as ever. Go on a cold, blustery night and you will be enveloped in this cozy, aromatic space.

Where is Pepper's located?

Pepper's is on Detroit and Ridgewood, across the street from some new condos under construction. I believe it's only open for dinner.
Can someone tell me where La Pita Express is? I love that kind of food, and I can't believe I've missed a place so many seem to love.

This is a great thread. Thanks Justine! I keep meaning to check out Peppers. It always gets rave reviews and I love their sign.

Let me add:

The Borderline Cafe
Alladins (I know it's a franchise, but it was here first)

We need more restaurant reviews in the ever-expanding Observer! And not just the new places, but some of the old places, so that newcomers to the 'Wood like myself can be clued in on the places to go!

This is making me homesick for all of the following, in no particular order:

Angelos
Peppers
Players
Melt
Around the Corner
Sullivans
The Place to Be
Malley's for Hot Fudge

and I know it's not in Lakewood but I'm really craving some Mitchell's Pumpkin Spice ice cream.

Breakfast:
Borderline
The Place to Be
DoughBoys...had a great muffin there Saturday morning on my shop local walk.

After 5:
THAI KITCHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kiehm's...just wish they had bubble tea.
Sechwan Garden. Best Chinese EVER.
Panda Wok...close second.
Peppers--definitely the best italian in the 'wood.
3 Birds---par excellance.
La Pita Express---seriously the best fries. I know, it's not exactly lebanese, but they do some excellent fries. Everything else is quite delish too.
Melt--steak sandwich....ahhhhhhhh
Ma Jo's??? It's the new pizza and sandwhich shop where Cactus Joes used to be. Their topping list is very good. Not just your boring old pizza joint stuff.
Beer Engine. Burgers...rock. Jalapeno chips rock.
And I love the Liz...even though it's a chain. I love the bar. What a fabulous space. Pretty sick of the food though. Every month for the Beer of Month glass since I moved in a few years ago. Think I will just go for the beer and the glass.

Where are the restaurants above located? I think Thai Kitchen is on Madison by Chesterland...not sure about the others. I haven't had chinese food in Lakewood since Wu's Cuisine moved out and was replaced by a new Walgreens :(
