I agree with Don. There has to be some accountability. Currently we pay 7.75% sales tax to the incompetent county of Cuyahoga. 20+% to the corrupt federal government (which, by the way goes to only paying the interest on the national debt) and 6+ to the State of Ohio.

Personally, I would gladly have my local taxes raised even to ten percent if this money was placed in a separate enterprise fund, to be used only on capital and economic development and overseen by a group of private citizens who have a vested interest and commitment to the preservation and continuance of Lakewood as it should be.

Local tax is tax deductible and is spent here in Lakewood on things that make my community better. Hey, we could even implement Savanna's Plan for Lakewood Park or put windmills off the shore to generate income, if we only had a capital money pump!
