The school closing at Harding on June 2nd was dignified, yet bittersweet for those in attendance.

Dad directed the Harding March again with his electric baton. The device mysteriously switched off as the march played, yet magically turned on again, the moment the march stopped!

Perhaps to say that it plans to light up the new Harding? Who can say?

Incidentally, Dad had been asked about whether he might be able to come up with a march for the new Garfield Middle School. This past week, our poor little laptop computer was put to work overtime, as "THE GARFIELD MARCH" was composed. I did the lyrics, and Dad completed the musical score for this original composition.

As I joked with Dad, composing beats decomposing any day!

Thanks to all of the many fine people, who have worked so hard for the future of our Lakewood Schools.
