There are several interior art locations - for community galleries in the north and south entry halls. These spaces are for photography, posters and art pertaining to the community.

There are also lower level and second floor galleries for permanent or temporary curated art collections.

An interior lobby sculpture - a kind of greeter piece, welcoming - reflecting the mission of the library- is anticipated.

Two exterior sculptures are also anticipated - one monumental piece on Detroit near Arthur, and another, perhaps a bit classical in inclination near the Arthur Avenue garden.

The architect also suggests a 3 dimensional enhancement to the children's entrance.

That's what the LPL Foundation is raising money for with the Gala.

public art is great ... will this include gallery space or wall space to have periodic shows of artwork from Lakewood residents? Perhaps a display case or two to show three-dimensional pieces, or artifacts from the Lakewood Historical Society? Or even some wallspace to display some historic photos from their archives, or other area archives
What we're hoping to raise money for, at this point, are several larger items. Large outdoor sculpture at the entrance (detroit) smaller outdoor sculpture on Arthur, children's room art, and some other interior spaces as designated by Stern.

But, also in the works are the rather large gallery areas which we hope to use for archival and other rotating displays. Plans are still underway, and until they have been finalized by the Arts Comittee, it's too early to discuss. Suffice it to say that I think what you will be more than pleased when they announce their plans.

My Bad

A couple people asked me about tickets for the Library Gala, I told them the lowest priced ticket was $125.00

I read my kit when I got back and realized that they are $100.
