Eh, you give or take a few bird lives and you gain not depending on nuclear plants in Perry and (whats the other one nearby?)

And with that comes less dependency on oil and gas, which leads to saving money. Wind is something that we'll always have here in Lakewood. so while I'm freezing to death walking to school, I'll feel better once I tell myself that same breeze gave energy to 6,000 homes.

The article linked in the other windmill thread states that winds above the water intake crib only reached sustained speeds of 16mph.

Three blades?

What are the chances of a bird smacking one of three blades when it's spinning at 16 mph?

My guess is they'd try to avoid it. It's not like a jet engine which sucks you in.
