I would suggest Epazote. It isn't a commonly used herb in American cuisine, but is used frequently in Mexican cuisine, especially in cooking beans. It seems to limit the unwanted production of gas.....

Slife is right, there are things that we can all do that take very little effort to make the city better. Signs are one. Another one is, it is my understanding that there is no legal for of solicitation in Lakewood. If they are not neighbors and they are selling or asking for something, call the police.

I have seen more than a couple "door to door" salesman ring a door bell a couple times, when there is no answer stop and write something down. What are they writing? No one home between ? and ?

I was surprised by the graffiti this weekend as well. Think it was on the corner of Detroit and Brockley. Presuming this is Lakewood kids, what does that say? Graffiti can come from thrill seeking, marking territory, attention seeking (which by the way, we're feeeding into), any other reasons? Just like the littering issue discussed in the past it's great for other residents or city workers to clean it up and the police to enforce the laws when they can, but how does the community reduce the occurences?
I'm guessing that they tagged these spots after their curfew unless they're 18+ which is certainly a possibility. We've got a good group of kids in the area, H2O, that are promoting ownership "new" development?

Personally, every time I see one of those "mattress" signs or whatever and I'm in my truck, I grab them and take them home. They go straight to the trash. I'm not going to wait around for some "official" to do the same thing. Saves them work and gets them off the street quickly.

I have little idea of how difficult it is to clean up grafitti but didn't the article in last week's paper say that the city was going to have it cleaned up immediately so the culprits wouldn't have the reward of seeing their work displayed? Does immediately now mean a week or so?
