I recently landed a job in downtown Cleveland and am currently looking for a place to live. As I am more of an Akron native, I don't know a lot about the Cleveland area but I did some touring over the weekend and it seems like Lakewood would be the best fit for me.

Jamie;

To help you out here are some hints as to Lakewood using areas in Akron:

When you hear about the Clifton Park or Clifton Beach area think Merriman Rd. area and down in the Valley

W. Clifton and all the streets north of Lake think the West Market Street from Merriman to the Country Club;

Anything between Lake and Madison think Goodyear Hts or the St. Sebastian-Portage Path areas

On Detroit from Warren to the western end of the city, think a very long Highland Square, there is even a theater on Detroit but no Rocky Horror Picture on Friday nights. The Mary Coyles of Lakewood is Malley's on Madison

When you hear Lakewood Hts Blvd. think of the area of around St. Vincent's Church

That is all the associations between Akron and Lakewood that I can come up with at the moment.

West 140th (Bunts) and Lakewood Heights Blvd. intersection area offers: Good access to rapid transit down-town or to the airport
Walking distance to groceries/restaurants/entertainment on Madison
fairly steady turn-over of doubles. I suspect this is not for any other reason than there are just so darn many, and a certain percentage of the population moves each year.
Parking can be an issue. Each address has a different situation.
