Are the signs in Rocky River?

With the bad store in question so close to Rocky River, why do I not see any signs over there?

The sign holder admitted, it is not a going out of business sale, and that new product get sent in daily.

Why would anyone deal with a store that abuses residents, fellow businesses, and lies to your face.

That would be like discussing things with other adults using fake names!

At first I felt bad, because I thought the company was going out of business and I certainly didn't mind them trying hard the last few days to get rid of their merchandise.

But this is a scam. That is false advertising. I did talk to an attorney yesterday and they seemed to think this is the best approach.

I don't really want more laws on the books. This hasn't been a problem in the past. I certainly want people to have the right to protest and carry signs for political purposes.

And, if this had been a real bankruptcy, close out - I could have lived with a Saturday or a Sunday of the guy trying hard to get his message out. '

Monday they are going to talk about legislation at council.

At your end of town you only see the bed scam. Downtown we are starting to see others advertise the same way including Quiznos and Donatos. This is something that has to be controlled.

It will be interesting to see what council drafts. Here would be my concerns.
1. Make sure the employer is cited not the worker.

2. That signs for the purpose of selling goods or services cannot be used on pubic property or whatever the proper word might be for streets and side walks.
Leaving way for demonstrators and pickets etc. or election day signs that some walk around with.

3. A small ticket for a company that employs people to walk around all day might not be enough; you might want to make sure the employer has to appear in court.

Of course these might not fly for some reasons over my head, but what are some other concerns and suggestions for a possible ordinance.

I received a note from Mary Hagan at City Hall. At the council Meeting of 10-3-05 Council Dever is on the docket as item 12 (new business) concerning communication to the council of the Rocky River Ordinance prohibiting mobile signs with a request that the Law Dept. draft similar legislation for review in committee. It would be great to see some concerned observers. Bring your placards and sandwich boards.
