To Finance Director Jenn Pae-- As part of your participation on The Deck and since your office issues reimbursement checks for expenses to city employees, could you please provide the license plate number of Rick Uldrichs so that Lakewood citizens can be on the lookout for him.

Dear Observers,

If you feel that a city employee - or anyone - is stalking, harassing, threatening, or intimidating you, you should immediately go to the police and make a police report.

I am aware of a city employee who threatened to fatally injure two public officials and their families. At least one of those public officials immediately contacted the police and made a police report. That police report - or what Law Director Kevin M. Butler calls, “citizen complaints or other documents” - no longer exists.

So, when you make a police report or "citizen complaints or other documents," please make sure that you get written verification of the same from the LPD.

I reviewed the style and content of "Borneo's" posts and I would be surprised if it was Rick Uldricks. They are far too cogent.

I hope that gives you a bit of peace, at least about this one particular instance. .

I have personally used this board to call out public officials but i am disappointed in this thread. The personal attacks are sounding more like forums where people use fake names. It all started because of a friend request?!? Come on people, grow up. If you don't want someone to reach you via Facebook simply block them...

Ryan,

Feeling that a city employee - or anyone - is stalking, harassing, threatening, or intimidating you isn't a joke.

Mike Summers closed an entire basketball court down for less.

I stand by my comment that folks should immediately go to the police and make a police report if they feel that a city employee - or anyone - is stalking, harassing, threatening, or intimidating them.

And when folks make a police report or "citizen complaints or other documents" - as Kevin Butler calls them - please make sure that you get written verification of the same from the LPD ... before your report goes missing.

Under normal circumstances I would agree with Ryan.
I sometimes get off-the-wall friend requests from people I don't or barely even know.
It's typically not a big deal.

However, consider a couple factors:

1. The person in question has a reputation for online abuse.
2. The curious timing of the request, just as "Build Lakewood" launches.
3. As men, it's easier for Ryan and I to shrug off this sort of thing. At the risk of sounding sexist, women need to be more cautious about these scenarios.

Mike,

Facebook is and will continue to be used for marketing and research. There is nothing illegal, or even wrong, about someone, even if they have a "reputation", requesting friendship. Just say no or block them.

Matt, if you receive a single friend request and feel "stalked" or "harassed" you shouldn't be on Facebook or any social media for that matter. I do agree if there is true stalking or harassment happening you need to contact the police and get a copy of your complaint, especially if it is against the current "regime".

Ryan

But they are not using fake names, are they? They are using their real names.

So it is nothing like a spineless person calling some out with a fake name, is it.

So let's say you don't want someone to contact you, so you block them, and
they continue, and continue and continue and continue and continue and continue.

Marguerite, as two of the people on your lawsuit team about Pete Za Hut,
one of them tracked him for years.

Ryan,

I think you know that my comments were intended to be broad in scope and, in fact, I believe supports what you are trying to say - i.e., don't post here, contact the police ... and get a copy of the police report.

Jim,
I agree that using real names is the only way to go. I also agree that if someone does that to you and you feel uncomfortable you need to do something.

Matt,
I guess my main point is that I hope we don't start using this deck a lot to just attack people for friend requests. Obviously if more is involved I would understand that reaction...

Just following up.

Has the stalking subsided?

Were the police, or investigators, able to resolve the matter? (If they were contacted.)

Thanks,
Corey
