In keeping with the "reporters fear for their jobs" theme, this story came out yesterday.

The PD "is exploring closer collaboration with sister company in Michigan".
Company officials say the newsroom will not be affected.
I'm quite sure the staff is not so confident.

When the Plain Dealer reports on Lakewood Hospital they usually include the phrase "100 year old Hospital". It's a not so subtle attempt to denigrate Lakewood Hospital.

Lutheran Hospital was founded in 1896 or so. I don't recall the Plain Dealer ever including the phrase "120 year old Hospital" when they report on Lutheran.

FYI, The Plain Dealer is 173 years old.

You would think a paper with a venerable history would be ashamed of how low they've sunk. As I've seen elsewhere, many refer to the PD as Pure Drivel.
