City hall and the current leadership don't have the snowballs to do it. :)

Someone didn't like me pointing out the truth. Rather than fess up and apologize for his hypocrisy he just blocks me. Mayor Mike Summers sure knows how to pick great leaders in this city...

Welcome to the club, Ryan!

I've been "blocked" and "unfriended" by almost everyone at City Hall ... even their cronies.

It's a badge of honor for me.

The funny thing is that my Facebook page is a happy place where ... rarely ... is a discouraging word uttered.

And, I have yet to even tweet from my Twitter account.

But, admit it, you do feel somewhat better about yourself now that Dru dumped you.

I guess you need to return Dru's high school class ring.

Ryan

If he is tweeting during work hours about work things than it is illegal to block you.

WE ARE PAYING FOR IT.

This is the same 14-year-old kid bullshit they tried with "Ward 3 FB Page"
which was also illegal.

This keeping stuff from us is getting really really really old.

They cannot block us, they cannot edit your responses, they cannot edit or dispose
of any comment or return. Those are all First Amendment Issues.

I have a slew of lawyers that will take these cases just for the fun of it...
and some of the winnings which are pretty lucrative. I think as much as
$1,000 a page a day.

Which is another thing I am sick of this city doing, getting us in stupid lawsuits
you kick off to an outside legal firm, related to..., to settle out of court.

STOP BURNING OUR MONEY ON YOUR MISTAKES.

Like dealing with kids.

Also if that picture is from the City of Lakewood drone, it is illegal.
If it is from the LO or Craig it has been stolen.

UPDATE ON CHRONIC OFFENDER NTB:

I called and left Mary a message at city hall, not expecting a call back... I then called NTB and talked with the manager and he said that he is "working on getting the sidewalk cleared with Mary".

THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH CITY HALL. STOP "WORKING WITH THE BUSINESSES" AND CLEAR THE SIDEWALK AND FINE THEM. START WORKING "FOR THE CITIZENS!"

If they do that a couple times I bet the businesses will learn not to mess around...

Ryan - Those of us on Grace who dealt with Mr. Siley during the Drug Mart process know of his proclivity for manipulation and misinformation. So, the fact that he is also a petty hypocrite comes as no surprise.

I'm almost speechless. Dru is an adult, yes? How petty. Did he not realize how childish that would look? He goes from looking bad to looking worse. And I'm not a tweeter (twitterer?) but I can see a bunch of his twitter feed online. Are there other tweets just for followers that I'm missing?

It is worth noting that to date the only action taken with regards to businesses not shoveling sidewalks in Lakewood was for the petulant Mr. Siley to remove Mr. Salo from his twitter account. By failing to enforce a city ordinance, Mr. Summers and Mr. Siley have provided yet another example of an administration that consistently put the needs of commercial interests ahead of residential concerns. Ryan I can't help but think that the subject line of your post should read... Dru Siley- Is he the best we can find?

To be fair, I do know that the city actually did go out and clear Family Dollar on Detroit during the 2nd to last snow storm. According to Mary that was the first time in 5 years that had been done and she said Family Dollar will get a fine. I also know she has been talking and sending letters to businesses that are being reported. My biggest beef is that the city is giving business owners almost an endless timeline to get it cleared and in years past the warm weather just melts it within a couple days. If we are going to have an ordinance requiring sidewalks be cleared within 24 hours then lets actually enforce it....

I will agree it sure seems like city hall is willing to bend over backwards for businesses even when it is at the expense of the citizens.

I am sure it is hard to find people to help run a city. I would imagine that there are probably more qualified people available in the area to head each department. It would take more work than the Mayor is willing to invest to find them...

I bet, if the Mayor just did a public message asking all qualified candidates to submit resumes, the current directors would almost instantly have to perform better than they currently are. :)

Ryan, I stand corrected. Apparently Family Dollar was singled out by city hall. Given the number of photos you submitted I'm not sure Mr. Summers or Mr. Siley will be highlighting their response in the next campaign. I hope you'll keep the pressure on. I think it's an important issue.

Just so everyone knows, I have an issue with what the City crews do after some of us do yeoman's work clearing the walkways. It's been an ongoing issue for a number of businesses for years, yet it continues. The plows are simply going too fast! I've seen them hit business windows with the slush and ice. Since they're now cracking down on some businesses, I'm not going to let them off the hook for their poor practices.

The picture is from in front of the Drug Mart plaza, across from the Library. The plow actually knocked over the trash container. I've sent emails to the Mayor's office, Council members, and the Service Department. I'm unhappy and they know it. So far, I've gotten quick replies from a number of members of Council and I think my email is making the rounds at City Hall. If I disappear suddenly.....

I'll keep everyone apprised of the process. Sorry the picture looks so big. I'm an arborist not an it guy...
