And might I add, "Good Lord, Ivor, I'm glad you're alive."

Ivor,

Glad that you are OK.

As far as angels and patron saints go? Remember our conversations in the past in that regard?

You have been truly blessed.

Best!

Gary

And, of course, the Lakewood Public Library:

Library Journal has awarded Lakewood Public Library a 5 Star Rating. This places Lakewood among the best public libraries in the nation. *** Overall, Northeast Ohio Libraries did very well, but Lakewood Public Library leads the pack.

A shameless plug to my neighborhood's block club, the St. Charles-Onondaga Block Club. We had a meeting tonight, which Officer Ortiz attended, and had a great discussion. We have fun events--we're looking forward to another Snowman Contest (if we ever get snow!) and our 2nd Chili Cookoff. Our neighborhood is the best!

How about a shameless plug for School Board Members-Elect Tom Einhouse and Emma Petrie Barcelona?

All five current school board members and Superintendent Jeff Patterson invited both Tom and Emma to participate in our ongoing search for a new Treasurer. While their terms do not officially start until January of 2012, both Tom and Emma accepted our invitation and have been active throughout our ongoing Treasurer search.

I would like to add a Shameless Plug to my husband for his work on bringing the Lakewood Criterium to life. He spent so much of his time putting it together and he put his entire heart and soul in to that event. It was a blast and we are looking forward to 2012.

Missy---- ditto to that--- the Criterium was very well implemented and it was very impressive to watch all the actors---- Police, Public Works, and Sponsors work like a team to get those Bikes spinning!

I'd like to put in a Shameless Plug for Jim O'Bryan for all he does for Lakewood and many other cities and for his wife Deb for putting up with him. I would not want to think what this town would be like without him. Thank You O'Bryan's :D

As we close out the year, Matt Markling will close out his term on the Lakewood City Schools BOE. He certainly deserves a plug (maybe even his own thread) for his efforts.

Thank you Matt for listening, considering others’ opinions, doing your “homework,” speaking up, maintaining a public dialogue, making informed, thoughtful decisions, admitting mistakes, posting in this forum and occasionally entertaining us at board meetings with your quirky sense of humor and honor.

Thank you for your service to our kids and community. You will be missed in this role.

Thanks, Meg!

And thank you for being a great neighbor and advocate for the Lakewood City Schools.

Here is a shameless plug for Scott Meeson.

Scott is a guy who is never afraid to tell me, Jim O’Bryan, or anyone how he thinks – whether it’s on the Observation Deck or in person.

Throughout my term on the Lakewood City School District Board of Education, Scott was perhaps my favorite critic (positive, negative, constructive, destructive, practical, theoretical, moral, whimsical, et al) … and I thank him for always being straightforward with me.

Scott Meeson, Lakewood needs more of you.
