Wow! You would almost think this week was the end of the month. Just imagine what this week will be like. It is not the garbage people's fault that people can't put their garbage out on the right day. Also, it is difficult to go around picking up garbage when an average of 1-3 garbage trucks break down every day. The automated arms do not work when it is below freezing.

If a house in your neighborhood insists on putting trash out early or not taking their cans in after garbage day, please make the following entities aware:

Lakewood Division of Reufse & Recycling: 216-252-4322 ore-mai: refuse@lakewoodoh.net
Lakewood Department of Public Works: 216-529-6800 or e-mail: pubworks@lakewoodoh.net
Office of Mayor/Public Safety Director Michael P. Summers: 216-529-6600 or e-mail: mayor@lakewoodoh.net
You can also call your ward councilman, but it may be more beneficial to hold Cynthia A. Marx and Ryan P. Nowlin's feet to the fire.

Cynthia A. Marx can be reached at 216-534-1772 or e-mail: cindy.marx@lakewoodoh.net
Ryan P. Nowlin can be reached at 216-712-7582 or e-mail: ryan.nowlin@lakewoodoh.net

sadly we have to set our garbage out early....like 3pm or i am blocked in my house until the garbage comes and takes it because of the idiots parking on my street. they block my driveway daily, and if we put the cans out in the street, they move them so they can park there. so if you see my cans out early...know that i got permission to do so because of the parking issue.

Wow. If it's that chronic, have you asked your friendly LPD to stop by and write a parking ticket?

Missy - Who at City Hall grants "permission" to set cans out early? Summers? Beno? Your Ward Councilperson? And what is the process to apply for "permission?"

Folks,

I do not complain about trash that is out a few hours early. All of the featured trash is out, at the bare minimum, two days early.

For those that live in Lakewood, permission to put trash out early can be granted on a case-by-case basis by calling the Lakewood Division of Refuse & Recycling at 216-252-4322.

More will be coming soon.

I've got to take exception to this Lori. In your latest video you seem to have included many properties in my immediate neighborhood, and I know when garbage pickup is for those homes. Your video is dated and titled 2/14, which is the day before we put our trash out (2/15) for 2/16 (today) pickup. And I see you've marked those as being 3 days early. That's incorrect. Those are out 1 day (plus a few hours) early.

Not suggesting that they might not have been out the day before or that 27 hours early is cool, but since you are taking it on yourself to document these things, I think you should take care to be as accurate as possible, and always err/round on the side of the resident as far as how early. If my trash pickup is thursday, putting it out at 3:30 Wednesday is not a day early, it's 1.5 hours early, and putting it out at 2 on tuesday should be described as "more than a day early" not 3 days early.

They are always writing tickets. A few of the officers are surprised I haven't run the cars over yet with my Jeep (mind you I lifted my jeep and put huge tires on it...i drove over a car before at a jeep rally....lol)
And we called the refuse department to explain our situation, and I spoke at length with Joe, city council, and a few others. I noted every time with pictures of being blocked in. I can't get a sign for "do not block driveway" . My next option is putting a stinger on the front of the jeep and just hitting people.

Mr. Vainisi,

Although the title is labeled as 2/14/17, please note that not all of these were taken on that 2/14/17. In fact, most of them were not. All of this, was indeed, out a minimum of two days early. You stated that most of these were in your neighborhood. Since you have indicated in your previous posts that you live in the general area on Roosevelt School, only two of these were in your "immediate neighborhood". If you have evidence to contradict that these were out less than two days early, I would be more than happy to look at it.

On another hand, it would appear that Mayor/Public Safety Director Michael P. Summers might have more problems to worry about at this point than trash considering everything that is going on. Who knows?

I don't know how much on "target" my comment is, but were talking "trash", and this has no connection to me, but, I put my recycle trash out at 6:oo pm Tuesday evening, directly in front of my driveway, Madison Ave. Wednesday is pick up day, Wednesday, right around 12 noon, I went to retrieve it, it had been collected, there was a note on it, lol, written on a beige napkin, " Please put your "toter" out before 6:30 AM the day of "pick up", I had to make a special trip, thank you for your cooperation".

I loved it, it was the best part of my day, how sad is that? A humane being wrote me a personal note, (I just might frame it). So I went to the recycling center on Berea road and showed the note to the authorities, and explained, I was in compliance, a real nice guy, he was eating lunch and had what looked like a great sandwich, he thought, he could identify the culprit by the address and the route, and after the drug test, and his contacts information, all will be forgiven. Jack

Also, I love Lakewood, all of it, every person, every public employee who does there job, makes it all smooth and efficient, helps me out, makes me feel like I am someone, and the departments I've dealt with have preformed as they should, the police, the fireman, EMS, THANK YOU. just wonderful. Big Government, I don't know anything about that. Mayor, council, Judge, not me.

Recycle guy, I owe you a beer, lets laugh, no problems, from now on, I'll have it out on Sunday morning, like many other Lakewood residents, a few days early. Watch, I will be arrested.

But there will be no more demolition of any commercial properties in Lakewood. Unless it is ok'd by me. me and my companions, we know a little about what should be saved and what should not. Those 4 storefronts on Detroit, will be preserved and renovated, forever. this is not a topic of decision, it is already decided.

If the city of Lakewood would give me a percentage of my verified documented violations, I will leave retirement, I will drive every street in Lakewood and together photograph and document every violation, we will end this disgrace, and I will be rich. .

Jackie, every so often they put out a call for volunteers for the various city committees. You should try to get on one that relates to your interests.

Thread drifting. This post is about the inability of Summers and Company to keep our city clean!
