Really?

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

I am writing this as possibly the most moderate in this entire discussion. I might be the most liberal too. Through this entire nightmare I have gone out of my way to make sure everyone is represented as equally and fairly as possible. Madigan, Summers, Bullock, all members here, they could easily answer 90% of the questions that need to be answered for Lakewoodites to understand this. But no, they run from open, fair, discussion and sources they cannot control. Why?

Brian Essi, Matt Markling, and others have been vocal opponents of the Mayor and the Build Lakewood movement.

Throughout this process, Brian Essi and Matt Markling have received threats via regular U.S. mail. I have also received threats. Others in the SLH movement have as well. Of course none of them signed.

Now, Brian Essi posts about how the blood of patients who die due to the in actions of the Mayor and Build Lakewood will be on the hands of the Build Lakewood leadership. See the "Notice to BL: BLOOD OF YOUR VICTIMS WILL BE ON YOUR HANDS" thread at http://www.lakewoodobserver.com/forum/v ... =7&t=13990.

What is the response to Brian's thread?

The Build Lakewood gang continues to ignore the dying patients referred to, and believes that Essi is actually threatening them!

Really?

Jay Carson even goes to the City Council Meeting this week and proclaims something like - "If you want to visit any serious personal consequences on me, I live at _____ _______ _______. I'll keep the light on for you."

Mary Louise Madigan then asks Mr. Carson if he knows what to do, to which Mr. Carson replies, "yes." Of course he did, they met on this very charade.

City Hall and Build Lakewood are trampling our First Amendment rights.

Now here is one of the biggest differences, ACCOUNTABILITY - Brian Essi signed his name to his comment. The threats against everyone I have mentioned came scrawled, with no postage mark, placed on cars, slid under business doors at night, delivered by people with fake names, or placed online for a day or two and then deleted when the poster sobers up and realizes what an ass they were.

I have no idea what Team Summers is so afraid of they have to resort to this, but I see it as yet another attack on first amendment rights.

Mayor Summers, Councilwoman Madigan, BuildLakewood you keep proving that the bar can be lower and lower and lower and lower.

Elected officials should be leaders. Oh well, maybe next time.

I would seriously consider picketing those businesses that favor tearing down our Hospital with signs stating:

"THE BLOOD OF LAKEWOODITES IS ON YOUR HANDS"

Pick a busy Saturday afternoon . . we could cross Detroit from Plantation Home to Cotton and move Westward from there . ..

Once you picket Lakewood stores and the hospital stays, then what?

Once you picket Lakewood stores and the hospital goes, then what?

Picketing wouldn't work, so settle down.

Besides, Rozi's already throws out Hospital supporters, so what's the difference?

BTW, the Mayor's forces have a virtual "picket line" of their own...they have pulled ads from the Observer.
The hospital isn't the only Lakewood institution they want to destroy.

Mike

Pulling ads from papers and media is an age old way to exert influence.

Many more have stayed, including Rozi's, than left.

No matter, I thank them for being with us while we had them, and wish them the best.

The LO is not Lakewood's problem, the hospital, and lack of honest and transparent government is.
