Help Lakewood Schools Choose New Hashtag

Post by Christine Gordillo »

We are gearing up to kick off another great school year, one that will see students and staff using social media more and more. It’s time for Lakewood City Schools to have a new and catchy hashtag to tie our social media efforts together and convey the pride of being connected with Lakewood City Schools. We are asking the community, district families and our staff to give us input on what the new hashtag should be. Send us your suggestions by 5 pm Thursday.

Amy, do you have any specific instances of the Lakewood School District wasting tax dollars or are you just trying to be funny with a silly hashtag? I can't say enough good things about our school district so am honestly curious if you have any specific areas where they are wasting our tax dollars.

I am just sick of all of the tax increases to rebuild every school in Lakewood. As a homeowner, I have a right to that opinion as I have a vested interest in how my tax dollars are spent. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I didn't say anything about wasting tax dollars.

Thanks for the reply. I definitely respect your opinion while disagreeing with it. The new schools were sorely needed and the kids benefit from it, as does the entire community in the long run. There are a lot of institutions that waste our tax money but, in my opinion, the Lakewood School District is not remotely one of them.
