It was a dog day afternoon so I went over to Edgewater Park in the section where dogs are allowed and did a photoshoot of just dogs chiiling out in Lake Erie.

1st double shoot day since I moved here: 1) Medicare Celebration and Save Lakewood March and 2) The Sparkle Effect (LHS cheerleaders). Reminds me of NYC. But more enjoyable.

Attended my 1st Lakewood Arts Festival and was very impressed. The scope and quality of the various artists with their products I feel is up to par with anything of this nature I've seen in NYC. And best of all their prices for their goods are way cheaper! Here's a link to my photoblog of this event:

Had my 1st oil change since I moved to Lakewood and boy was it an eye-opener! I stopped at the "Lube Shop" across from the "Y" and they serviced me like I was getting a full tune-up plus an inspection. I told them that back in NYC, when you take your car in for an oil change - that's what you get, an oil change. Plus you pay more for less in NYC.

Needless to say, they have my business from now on!

Looks like I"m going to "catch" some major Ohio/Cleveland/Lakewood light since I'll be shooting the First Republican Presidential Primary Debate on Thur. 8/6 down at the Quicken Loans Arena. Mike Deneen and I will be working as a reporter/photographer team. I want to state my appreciation to Jim O'Bryan for having confidence in me as 'the new kid on the block' who just moved here from NYC.

Lakewood rocks!

Alex and Mike-- The debate has been cancelled. Fox realized it was too absurd. They will be showing a rerun of "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet."

I need to spend the day with you Alex as I am now getting in to photography and loving every minute of it. Editing again is the part I hate and trying to learn this new camera....lol

Sounds great! Maybe you could come along with Mike and I when we do a shoot for the Observer and learn on the job - which for most people is the best way.

Just got back from downtown Cleveland getting my media credentials for the GOP Debates that will occur on 8/6/15. The one thing that continues to get my attention is the paucity of traffic downtown. NYC would be packed the whole length of Manhattan. But the up side is that everything is in walking distance and the #26 bus takes me practically to my doorstep.

Here's a link to some photos of the downtown preparations that are being made:

Had my largest photography event when I covered the GOP Debates for the "Lakewood Observer". At the rate I'm going, I'm catching more light here in Lakewood than I was in NYC.

Alex,
Great pictures of the convention. The close ups were fantastic. Photography is an art, and you've got it down pat!
