Ward 2 race

Post by Ryan Salo »

It looks like Sam O'leary is starting strong with a great presence at the parade and a fund raising event tonight.

According to Beegan's facebook site 12 people went to a fundraiser on April 28th. I also noticed that Tim Laskey's (Mike Summers Treasurer) daughter is Paul's Treasurer. Interesting.

Should be an eventful race especially if Sam stays strong against closing the hospital under the current plan. It sure appears that Beegan is a Powers/Summers guy.

I attended his fundraiser yesterday.
To say it was an eclectic mix of folks would be quite an understatement.

Sam has worked very hard for my ward and our city during his short, tumultuous tenure.
He came into office during the "salt shortage", and quickly had the hospital situation dumped on him.

If he stays firm on the hospital issue, he has a very bright future in our city.

I also attended the fundraiser and was impressed by the diversity of the crowd. Sam is definitely getting support from a wide array of folks in the city.

And we wonder why the current elected officials think they can do whatever they want? :)

I think we need a little bi-partisan leadership. Too bad the voters are too well trained to just vote the D endorsed ticket... Voters will get what they deserve in the long run and those R's still hanging on will eventually just move on to Avon heaven... :)

Not quite accurate.
Lifelong Republican Mike Summers has fielded his own candidate to oppose Sam.

Not all Republicans leave town.
Many (or at least 24 of them) join the Lakewood Democratic Club.

Stan,

Of course! I am a conservative, I give things away out of the goodness of my heart rather than needing it to be taken away by the government so they can give it to who they feel needs it most. :D

I am also a cheapskate so I don't have much of value, you will probably end up with crap. :)
