Graffiti Arrest Made, "Geek" Caught

July 16, 2015

The Lakewood Police Department has filed charges with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Prosecutor against a 16 year old Lakewood male, for recent cases of graffiti in Lakewood. Over the July 4th 2015 weekend several buildings were vandalized along with City of Lakewood owned poles and traffic control boxes. The charges were based on the spray painting of “GEEK” . Through citizens tip, social media posts, and surveillance cameras, Lakewood Detectives were able to identify the suspect. During an interview the suspect admitted to these crimes. A total of 13 separate instances of vandalism were filed against the suspect.

According to Chief Tim Malley, “While this arrest does not clear up all the instances of graffiti that have appeared this one particular individual was responsible for a significant number of crimes. The investigations are continuing and charges are possible against others. I sincerely hope the Court in this case understands the significant damage this type of behavior causes in the community and imposes an appropriate sentence that will deter this type of behavior in the future.”

Good work Lakewood Police.

Has their been any progress in locating the hit skip driver that critically injured a pedestrian crossing Detroit near Riverside?
Perhaps if a description of the car make and color was publicized, people could be on the lookout. It appears to have left parts and pieces in the road.

Nice work! This brings up a point I want to make public. Lakewood law enforcement seems to be not only competent but very friendly and helpful. I personally have had very positive experiences with them since moving here from NYC where it's a whole lot different!
