City/State WARN!! - CAUTION ZOMBIE JESUS

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

All week large orange signs have been moved into place, and many of us were wondering
why. After all they had never used them before, after all this is just typical City/State
street repairs, then Easter Morning we found out why...

I guess we'd better hang on to that hospital you're trying to give away for magic beans.

Some people have thought this was photoshopped, it was not. Different camera, different angle.

26 minutes after posting, Lakewood Police come back to turn the sign off.

This was what I was on the way to photograph when the sign essay appeared...

Apparently, Zombie Jesus as a widespread internet "meme" goes back to 2005, though the concept can be traced back to as early as 1999 (Furturama episode, "When Aliens Attack", November 7, 1999).

According to those who track interest in "Zombie Jesus" (according to Web Searches on the internet), worldwide interest in "Zombie Jesus" peaks around Easter, and has done so every year since 2005.

I saw FOUR Police SUVs swarming Marc's plaza this AM to remove an aerosol can of something, that I'm assuming was shoplifted, from a heavyset guy's pants. Four vehicles were required for this delicate extraction.

Maybe he was a zombie shoplifter.

Thank god for all the Lakewood police involvement, that's all I have to say.
