City Hall, City Services, Police, Fire Good Work

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Every year since I moved my offices downtown, I noticed the effort going into getting the
city ready for the Arts Festival. Lines, painted in parking lots, extra trash cans, cracks and
bricks repaired and a general sprucing up.

This year was no different, I ran into some city workers weeding the sidewalks and around
the trees. I asked about it, and they said all the right answers. "Yeah in the rush to get ready
some of the things get over looked, but we come back and do a sweep, making sure everything
is right and looking good. We noticed a couple weeds, and grabbed them, no big deal, but it
is the little stuff that matters. Today we want our city to look perfect for everyone visiting."

And off the went down the street checking this, checking that. Later in the day I had the
pleasure of running into the Mayor and Wendy. While talking Mike could not stop from
checking the things around us. Garbage cans making sure they were not to full, looking at
everything making sure it was good for Arts festival Day.

The City looked great, to bad the rains came, or it could have been the biggest ever.

Thank you.
