Lakewood Police and Fire Departments

Post by marklingm »

Thank you, Lakewood Police and Fire Departments!

This holiday weekend went off very well in large part because of the hard work of the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments.

Let’s not forget that it’s not the men and women serving on the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments who make silly City Hall decisions … from destroying sidewalks during RTA construction … to creating traffic calming chicanery … to causing crosswalks follies … to closing the Kauffman Park basketball hoops due to alleged neighbor safety concerns … to planning to increase our property taxes to pay for the “Michael P. Summers Recreation Center & Natatorium” … to keeping everyone in the dark as to what is going on with the Lakewood Hospital ... to whatever nonsense City Hall is up to now or will come up with next.

The men and women on the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments do an awesome job protecting our families and residents.

The men and women on the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments do a wonderful job serving our families and residents.

Please take the time to say, “Thank you!” to the men and women on the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments who protect and serve us so well.

They are all too often our unsung heroes.

Matt

As you well know, they are many unsung heroes at City Hall who for the most part do the
best they can do with what they have to work with.

This weekend, Melissa Garrett was a true star, and is one of the biggest reasons for how
events happen in Lakewood and get better year after year.

But the police and fire, until you do a ride along or two, and understand that every time
they get a call it could be very serious, and dangerous especially for them gives you a
whole new appreciation for what they do every day.

Yeah, they did good this weekend.

So true, Jim.

But this thread is singing the praises of the men and women of the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments.

We should bring back the following "Shameless Plugs" threads inspired by Steve Davis:

Steve Davis should be the first to start the "Shameless Plugs - Part III" thread.

Very few organizations do a mission statement well.

But the Lakewood Police and Fire Departments do that well, too.

Nice, simple, and to the point:

Lakewood Police Department wrote:Mission Statement

The Division of Police employees preserve the peace, protect life and property, prevent crimes, apprehend criminals, recover lost and stolen property, and enforce, in a fair and impartial manner, the ordinances of the City of Lakewood and the laws of the State of Ohio and the United States of America.

Lakewood Fire Department wrote:Mission Statement

To protect and safeguard life and property from fire or hazardous conditions: to provide emergency medical treatment to those in need.
