Lakewood Monopoly Discovered!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Last week a woman walked into the Lakewood Observer offices above Rozi's Wine House
in beautiful DowntowN Lakewood, and presented Deb O'Bryan proof that at one time there
was a "Monopoly" in Lakewood back in the 1980s.

"Because of your involvement in making the city better, and for helping with those wonderful
cards, I thought you should have this..." Said the woman who wanted to remain unnamed.

Well thank you!

Sad to see the many fine businesses that have since closed their doors. Bought my pet turtles from Arrow Pet, my first calculator at Borrows, Worked at Millers, Worked at Bobsons and my graduation watch was from Yeagers

It's time for an updated version!
We've certainly got more than enough great local businesses and institutions to feature.

The main question: Where would the Observer go on the board?

The "free parking" corner?

The cost of having The Lakewood Observer in the 'Wood is priceless.

Thanks for giving us a place to play before and after dusk, Jimmy!

And all this fun was brought to the 'Wood without even getting a city tax abatement or tax increment financing agreement.
