There was a Magnovox? tv and radio store which had a pair of Bozak Concert Grand
speakers for around 5 grand. They were like twin refrigerators and I lusted after them.
They probably still sound good almost 50 years later.

When I did finally get that money it went for a TR7 which would fail to run long enough
to get through In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.

I think the Detroit Warren Bldg. owner had gotten some type of historic designation that made that building untouchable. The reason for the sliver of park and parking lot is because the city did all the land acquisition dirty work which included condemning a building and at least the beginning of eminent domain procedures against other property owners. The park and parking were the public need to justify the actions.
I'll admit Mr. Rubin and his Coral company, the plaza owner/developer have keep the site well maintained and fully leased. I have even seen their sponsorship of some community events.
If I only didn't need to look at that ugly thing every day.

Originally Poll Parrot, hence the bird, and later eggs with toys.

That became Lakewood Juvenile Shoes, I believe

The store that Russ is referring to was Music Unlimited. They featured Magnavox and at the high end Sony. I bought a state of the art Sony color TV 19" for $600.
