City council votes in new President, Vice President

Post by Peter Grossetti »

City council had just elected Ward 4 councilwoman Mary Louise Madigan as council President and At- large councilman Ryan Nowlin as Vice President.
"So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we're together we might as well say:
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?"

Peter:

Usually elections have consequences, apparently not in Lakewood. I don't understand how the top vote getter does not even get consideration for either the council presidency or vice presidency?

Here are last years election results:

LAKEWOOD COUNCIL AT LARGE
41 of 41 precincts reported.

Tom Bullock 4403
Ryan P. Nowlin 4021
Cindy Marx 3717
Sam O'Leary 3584
Anthony Davis 1273

Do you have any insights on how this occurred?
