Emotions High On Morrison, Wyandotte And Around City

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

After getting a call about why every police car in the city was leaving City Hall around 6pm, I made a couple calls and turned on the scanner, and heard what was probably a suicide attempt as some of the police were headed to the hospital with an ambulance.

When the call went out about a door-to-door solicitor who had seen a woman come to the door, then he left, then he heard loud voices and gun shots. Then a man came to the door and waved a gun in the solicitor's face and disappeared. Neighbors moving in next door had also seen the incident so police responded en masse.

Police cars line the streets of Morrison for an event.

Finally after about 15 minutes a man came to the door, and would not let officers in as they
surrounded the home, and spoke with neighbors.

Finally after another 5 minutes the man walked calmly out on to the porch to speak with
officers as other officers entered the house to search for the gun.

Then another call went out, for a girl being beaten up by her boyfriend on Wyandotte, who jumped into his car to get out of Lakewood before police got there, and then another call for an accident on North Marginal Road with participants arguing.

We are entering the holiday season, and while it is a blast for many of us, for many others
it brings on stress, angst, loneliness and bad thoughts.

Keep an eye out for warning signs, and check in on those that have no one else.

Spread love and good thoughts while respecting those that could have it tougher than you.

Happy Holidays.
