All

Well the car show was last weekend, and the city ends its summer schedule with a BANG. Jerry and Ruthie Koenigsmark have really done a marvelous job with this.

A majority of the cars and the people walking around were from outside of Lakewood, which is not saying it is not a Lakewood-friendly event, but that it is, and a wonderful brand-builder for the city.

Estimates were that over 10,000 people  made their way through the show. The vendors at the show and the businesses on the street loved the event, as did everyone who attended.

This brings summer to an end-- the only real parties left this year are Got Green and the LEAF Harvest Party, both end of growing season events. Then it is straight into the holidays and Light up Lakewood and light up the monkey at the Burning Monkey Festival.

Again, hats off to Jerry and Ruthie Koneigsmark who are the founders and heart and soul of this event. Special thanks to the City of Lakewood (job well done), Quaker Steak and Lube, Jakprints, LowBrow Customs, Beer Engine, Mars Bar, the volunteers from StART Neo, Jerry's Color and the Gas Box.

Altogether it was a beautiful thing, thanks for letting us work with you all. To see the story and 200+ photos of this event, go to: http://lakewoodobserver.com/photoblogs and check out the 4 photoblogs.

This edition of the Lakewood Observer is filled with love and respect from your friends and neighbors for you to read and enjoy. Please consider joining with us in a celebration of Lakewood, the recording of Lakewood's history, events, ups and downs, and looking into how Lakewood maintains its  status of being one of the best locations in the "Best Location in the Nation!"

Also join with us at our LOKOL Series, the  next one looks as Block Watches and Zone police, what are they? Do they work? And why or If they are needed.

We will also be starting up our coffee discussions at many of the coffee shops and bars in town so stay tuned. They are all FREE, and dependent on you getting involved.

Until next time, shop local, enjoy Lakewood, and tell your friends and co-workers that Lakewood is where you should live or work.

peace/love

Nice issue.
I especially appreciated the marching band and soccer articles.
