Board OKs Placing 3.9 Mill Levy On May Ballot

Post by marklingm »

Mayor Michael P. Summers and Christina Gill McCallum are co-chairing the upcoming levy campaign committee.

While information about the levy campaign can be obtained from Mike and Christina directly, there is a nice article about the levy on the front page of The Lakewood Observer.

You can also read the article at http://lakewoodobserver.com/read/2013/02/05/board-oks-placing-39-mill-levy-on-may-ballot.

Here are the insurance costs for our company:

Premium per month:

Individual $395
Couple: $868
Family: $1,219

Individual deductible is $2,500
Family deductible is $5,000
Maximum individual out of pocket: $3,500
Maximum family out of pocket: $7,000

Our agent tells us that expanded coverage under the Affordable Health Care Act will cause our premiums to increase about 25% over the next two years.

The employee pays 25% of the premium.

Please provide similar information for School Board Employees.

How much money has tax abatement cost the schools during the last 5 years?

During the last levy campaign no one mentioned the $6 million in pension bonus payments. Are any new bonus payments planned?

Anyone have any answers on the health insurance? It took me about 5 minutes to dig up the info on our plan.
