A local family with four children lost all of their beds and a couch due to a crisis in the housing unit. We have exhausted all of our known resources. The Lakewood Department of Human Services Division of Youth office would like to thank the citizens of Lakewood and surrounding communities for the overwhelming response of generosity and concern for this family. They were able to receive all four beds as well as a sectional couch. Many community members also offered to assist them with the pick-up and delivery of the furniture. The family was extremely appreciative of the donation. The response to the situation was quick and compassionate. The Division of Youth is encouraged that we are able to use this forum to establish community partnerships. Thank you.
