Nothing To See Move Along Part Deux

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

I got a call that a late model beige car had tried to make Moe's Southwestern Grill Lakewood's
newest drive-through restaurant. However by the time I got there, the car was cleared, and
order was restored to the area!

Still you have to admit that is a dramatic oil/radiator spill, and look at that concrete chip!

This has the potential to cost hundreds of dollars to repair.

OK, move along, nothing to see here.

Heading down Madison to Robinwood, we realized we couldn't turn left. Apparently the guy in front of us didn't.
The city workers strategizing with the tow truck drivers about how to pull the car out, said the yellow tape had just come down seconds earlier; the driver thought he could get through the cones. He didn't get far. I did not take a picture of him where he was sitting in the police car. (There was a parade of police cars there.)

The wet cement-- is that red stuff cement? smelled like bubblegum, matching all the spinning lights. The red walled tires looked pretty cool. And then we moved along. I don't think the car has become a sculpture at the end of the street but we haven't been back.

suprised you didn't stop by my place yesterday, as we played host to our wonderful Lakewood Fire Department.

two days ago we noticed that the pole in our tree lawn that holds the school speed limit sign was begining to fall over due to rot. so we called the city, the city apparently called C.E.I. who sent out a truck, of which the result was to determine that it was the city's responsibilty, so the fire department was called... why the fire department? That was my question too.

well the fire department stuck around for about an hour until they heard back from the city that "we'll look into it tomorrow."

so they wrapped some caution tape around the pole and left.

nothing to see here... move along people...
