Yay, because Lakewood certainly doesn't have enough burger places or bars.

All this place needs to do is serve Pizza and we should be set.

Why the sarcasm about a new restaurant?

I have found that people from "upscale" suburbs are much more likely to venture out to even a seedy location for a meal at a restaurant that is hot or trendy yet they don't necessarily do the same to find goods, or shop.

In my mind, restaurants are a good draw and the more the better.

Although I DO agree that we have about reached the saturation point for pizza shops!

Well good luck to them!

I personally don't have a problem with many restaurants...only with many that have the same selection of foods in a close vicinity. As well, I wish more new places would move towards the eastern side of Lakewood and on Madison to spread things out... seems that most of these newer places are downtown or west end.

I was hoping it was a Carrie Cerino'a - Spaghetti and Meatballs. Yeah!

I just came back from Barroco on Madison. (Just couldn't wait for that new McD's on Detroit) I'll give a report on the steak arepas I got. Seems like a real nifty place!

Whole Foods or Earth Fare, John? (Not that there's a lot of difference, but I know Earth Fare is coming in to the Westgate area, just wondered if there were going to be two)

I heard whole foods in the shopping center across from Mitchells Ice Cream

So you're saying it's ok to say we have too many pizza shops but it's not ok to say we have too many bars or burger places? Exactly what is the criteria?

You will never have too many of one thing because the bad ones will always get washed out. With the exception of Wu's and Maria's Roman Room, or for that matter the Marlo II, I've never seen a good restaurant go out of business in Lakewood. And those three all had internal problems.
As far as other ideas, Thai, Cambodian, Moroccan, Ethiopian, Armenian, Turkish and even good Chinese might be welcome additions.

Re: WF in RR

I just checked with a good friend at WF corporate and she said there is nothing on the books about a new WF in RR. Unless the lease was signed, like, yesterday. The latest list is only up to end of May. She said the only WF activity on there currently is in the Columbus area, relocating an already existing store in Upper Arlington.

ETA:

She did say they are revisiting sites that were potential ones before the bad enconomy put it all on hold, so it is possible.
