No Gun - No Fire

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Lakewood Police and SWAT were called to a possible stand-off on Larchmont on 12.30.09.
As always police answered very quickly with a lot of force and fire power. Luckily, it
was not needed as the call was a fake.

Today, 12.31.09 police and fire responded to a false alarm at the Lakewood Public Library.

Happily, no gun, no fire.

Party on.

Jim--- If you listen to the scanner you realize that the Police serve a dual role. They take away the bad actors with quickness and dispatch.
And, they deal with the folks who can't deal with the folks or themselves. They show concern, and a recognition that individuals have to get on with their lives, and then the Police move on to the next situation.
Tonight will be a bowl game test, as always. But---the LPD will deal with it.
As for us, keep it cool.

Thank you for posting this. This is my street, and I encountered this trying to come home yesterday afternoon. I tried to catch as much as I could on the scanner, but didn't hear what the original call was.
