Liberals like to pretend that they support freedom of speech but contrary opinions usually send them into fits of outrage. It's easier to see why President Obama has such a fondness for dictators. They can to what he wishes he could do.

Who are these liberals?

Are all liberals the same?

How big is that brush you use?

Do all conservatives pretend they are thinking beings?

Freedom is tough, but important. Tolerance is as well.

There are many things that I oppose with my whole being, but someone else should have the right to express the opposite opinion. That doesn't mean that it won't make my skin crawl. And heaven knows that some of my opinions may do the same with them.

Neither conservatives or liberals have the lock on being open minded. I personally think conservatives are more comfortable with being closed minded. Perhaps more certain that they are doing what God wants them to do. Liberals hate being thought of as close minded, but I concur sometimes they are too and just as much.

The spectrum of political affiliation is not a line, but a circle.

The most liberal and the most conservative have quite a lot in common.

So how is this related to our nation other than being a distant neighbor? Oh wait, it doesn't. You must have some computer that filters in the word "Obama" into any article on Conservative blogs like Breitbart.com....even when the article relates to nothing native to our soil at all. Hmmm....

Roy, the youtube video about the political spectrum is one of the funniest youtube videos I have ever viewed. Talk about inventive!

On one hand, one could wish the maker be dragged kicking and screaming into, say, a freshman course in political science at an average college. Yet, on the other hand, then we wouldn't have someone who actually would be motivated to invent out of whole cloth a scheme so abject.

My favorite was the definition of Republic: "a true republic is one where the government is limited by law leaving the people alone." No Plato or Cicero, eh? And no mention of democratic republic either. This would seem to be a definition so divorced from the history of conceptions of "Republic," be it classical or liberal, or, 'social democratic,' that it exists as a standalone novelty.

Then, at the end, his example of wild west justice subverts this very definition.

Illogical fer sure.

Don't know know what to think about anyone who would take this seriously. ...have some ideas...

Still, what a hoot!

Good point DL
1.) No, because no two individuals are the same. We used to be a country of individuals. The further polarized it becomes however, the further group-think represents what was once an individual's opinion. However, the ease of changing one's mind is relatively easy, based on critical thinking and analysis of fact. It is not so easy when one feels they are better off giving proxy to a group. It depends on who is defining liberal, who is acting out that definition and who accepts the proxy of the moniker. A bit of a mixed bag

2.) Unfortunately this very large brush is shared almost equally, by players on both sides of the proxy.

3.) I think it is a reasonable guess, that conservatives, like their liberal counterparts, would first need definition, to be further segregated into thinking and non-thinking human beings. I happen to believe that both exist in fairly equal numbers.
