Lakewood Choir

Post by Justine Cooper »

I went to church at Unity in Westlake yesterday and at the end of the service a mother-daughter duo sang a beautiful song! At the end of the song they announced the daughter was part of the Lakewood choir and just came back from Carnegie Hall!

Later that day the entire choir sang at the Unitarian Church in RR for a retirement party for a man that volunteered several hours tutoring them (I am sorry I have to get his name).

Wednesday is their concert open to the public!!!

The Lakewood Symphonic Mixed Choir did indeed perform at Carnegie Hall on Sunday May 6, 2007 and the Lakewood Observer had an Observer in attendance. The story will be in the next issue.

The man that was honored yesterday is a person who is no stranger to many and someone who helped build LHS's first class music program, none other than Mr. B. Neil Davis.

Anyone who has not seen the choir should go to the 5/19/07 concert at the Civic Auditorium. These kids will make you feel proud of our city.

Thank you Scot! I felt bad for not knowing his name! I heard wonderful things about him and look forward to our concert! I would have preferred Carnegie Hall to watch but maybe next time!! They do serve us proud!!!!!
