Gov. DeWine closes bars at 10pm because Ohio adults cannot be trusted to be smart enough.

As the numbers climb, we are getting closer and closer to not just a shutdown, but one during the holidays.

People, we can do this.

Just to clarify, DeWine is proposing that alcohol sales stop at 10 PM EDT in Ohio. It is going to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission for debate starting at 9 AM tomorrow (Friday, July 31). The hope is they approve the order and DeWine signs it tomorrow. But it is not a law/order yet.

The selling of alcohol ends at 10, but drinking can continue until 11 pm.

What's to stop someone ordering a few drinks just before the 10 pm cut-off, and then nursing them?

To really make a difference and hopefully, make things covid-safer, I feel, that all drinking establishments should be closed until further notice.

There's nothing stopping folks from drinking at home.

It would probably be necessary...to continue the 600 dollar a week federal unemployment supplement if a shutdown of that magnitude were reinstated.
