I am looking forward to the possibility of a Surprise “partisan” appointment to the possible vacant At Large Council position come January.
A “majority partisan” appointment of a registered Independent—-the largest group of registered voters in Lakewood.
Although unlikely, a “minority partisan” appointment of a Registered Republican —the third largest group of registered voters would also be refreshing.
A “ Miracle Partisan” appointment of a person of color from either of the above two groups would really send a message of Real Reform ringing throughout Lakewood.

"He was a critical player in the revitalization of Downtown Cleveland, leading redevelopment projects that included historic renovations of once-empty office buildings and the redevelopment of the Playhouse Square District. Kelly also led Cuyahoga County’s role in the 2016 RNC Convention in Cleveland."
The RNC Convention is as Republican as you can get. Republicans masquerading as Democrats, forming a PAC to run "their" Democrats, in their zeal to privatize public assets.
Mr. Essi, there is nothing refreshing about a registered Republican in any office, in any jurisdiction. Lest you support generational corruption and the raid of the public treasury?
