Special ABR Meeting to Address Hospital Development

The ABR meeting is Tuesday, March 23 at 6 PM. I plan on attending.

If ABR approves significant changes in the development would that require a new vote by Council?

I've been told that Hospital officials were aware of the problems with the site for many years. Did they communicate those problems to the City?

If not why not?

If so was council made aware of those problems?

Why did Council approve a plan than would never be built?

It's clear that the Mayor and his team never gave any thought to what comes after: Hey guys, lets close the Hospital and transfer $70 million in cash and investments to private foundations!!

I would agree that the only thing they ever cared about was the transfer of the funds. Everything else has been proven to be a lie and/or unbelievably bad critical thought.

But why would Council suddenly find itself doing anything but rubber stamping the fall down the rabbit hole.

Did one of them finally understand they have been lied to or are part of the scheme?

I imagine, they all go down with the ship. Worst Administration in the history of Lakewood.

There has been very little demolition at the Hospital site.

The special ABR meeting was called shortly after Jim O'Bryan reported that there were serious issues with the Hospital site. I attended the meeting expecting to hear someone address the issue. Instead Carnegie Development presented an update on the color of the bricks and other design features. That seemed odd. A special meeting to discuss the color of the bricks?

Maybe this meeting WAS called to address the site problems. Calling a special meeting and then saying nothing about the site would allow the developer to imply that there are no problems without actually saying so. Was this meeting just dog and pony show?

Carnegie announced that they MIGHT have a tenant for the office space but that there was a very narrow time line. The potential tenant needs a definite availability date. If that is true then shouldn't the demolition be proceeding at a furious pace?

This administration knows of nothing but dog and pony shows.

While fighting every attempt at public oversight they can.

Spending hundreds of thousands of dollars of back stories to hide the facts in court.

Time to move the regime gently out of the way and bring back sunshine.

No one asked at the meeting. I left half way through.

The City says everything is fine. That's possible, I guess. But, then why the delay in the demolition?

Jim O'Bryan says that workers are being threatened with dismissal if they discuss the issue. Again, if everything is fine then why threaten the demolition crew?
